This summers much awaited Euro 2020 competition has been postponed until next summer amid the current situation
In a time where it seems every sporting event is being cancelled, Euro 2020 is the latest one to go. Last week, The Premier Leauge joined all of Europe’s major leagues in bringing the season to a halt. With many games left in all of the leagues, there are still many different potential outcomes.
With the leagues needing to be settled it questioned whether there would be enough time for this summers Euros. UEFA heald a meeting yesterday, in which the outcome was that the Euro’s would take place next year, starting on June 11th 2021.
This is obviously disappointing for football fans all around Europe, however, it does mean that the club seasons can hopefully get finished this summer.
UEFA today announced the postponement of its flagship national team competition, UEFA EURO 2020.

England are favourites with Betfair going into next summers tournament, currently priced at 9/2. The fact That they should have a fully fit Rashford and Kane will be part of the reason they’re now favourites. Just behind them in the odds is the 2018 World Cup winners, France. They have experience on the big stage as well as having the best squad in Europe. France would be confident against any side next summer.
Surprisingly also at 5/1 is Belgium. There is no doubting they’re ability, but next summer they will have an ageing defence along with a side that is fairly injury-prone. If they can get everyone in top form, however, they can have real good go.
Priced slightly higher is Spain at 8/1. They aren’t the team they once were but they have fantastic talent coming through in as well as depths of experience in Sergio Ramos. The World Cup runner ups Croatia are way out at 22/1. Players like Rakitic and Modric will be out of their prime by then, but they could still be worth a bet, even each way!
