After beating Wales 27-23, France are now the favourites to win the Six Nations after being this year’s surprise package
Coming into the tournament France were the fourth favourites for the competition, with Wales, England and Ireland all ahead of them. They made it to the quarter-finals of the 2019 World Cup and were beaten by Wales 20-19.
France haven’t won the Six Nations since 2010 and certainly weren’t expecting to this year. Prior to the tournament, they were priced at 7/1 to win with England the favourites at 4/6. In their first game, they beat England 24-17 which threw the whole tournament wide open.
Since then they have beaten Italy and Wales and now sit top of the table on 13 points. England and Ireland are behind them on nine points. With two weeks to go, England and Ireland still have a chance to win the Six Nations but they need a few favours. France are 8/13 to win the Six Nations with England at 15/8 and Ireland at 9/1 with Betfair.
Who have France got left to play?
Up next for the team at the top is Scotland. France are the favourites with Betfair going into the one at 4/9. Scotland are fifth in the table with just one win and are priced at 2/1 to beat France. Both England and Ireland will be hoping that if France win they don’t get any bonus points as this will put the pressure on both of them to do so as well. Scotland have only conceded 32 points however, the lowest of any of the teams which means France will be in for a tough game.
In their final game, France faces Ireland in which will probably be the decider for the competition. Again France are the favourites at 4/9 with Ireland at 15/8. England will be hoping for an Ireland win in this win but again they will need neither side to score any bonus points.
