FA Cup Third Round Draw

The FA Cup Third Round draw was this week and it pulled out some big games including a Merseyside derby!

On Monday night Micah Richards and Tony Adams took part in the draw for the Third Round in the FA Cup. There are 64 teams left in this round with 32 games to be played between January 3rd – 6th. The lowest-ranked side left in the competition is AFC Fylde who are in the National League. The team from the lowest league is Boston United from the National League North.

Last years winners, Man City, are still in the competition as well as all the Premier League sides.

This years draw has brought around some good fixtures and were going to look at each of them and their odds on winning the competition!

Wolves (22/1) vs Man United (10/1)

One of the few all Premier League clashes is a tough one for Solskjaers side. Man United haven’t managed a win over Wolves in their last four meetings. Their last three games have been at the Molyneux in which Wolves won two. The hosts are also above them in the Premier League and are having a far better season so far. Wolves will be hoping to beat United and try and go one better by getting to the final this year.

Liverpool (6/1) vs Everton (25/1)

For the blue side of Merseyside, games don’t much bigger than this. An away cup tie to Liverpool is what all Everton fans dream of. However, it probably couldn’t come at a worse time. Everton are struggling in 17th whilst Liverpool are flying at the top of the table and eight points clear. This should be easy work for Liverpool however they may rest a few players. Should they get each other in the Carabao Cup and draw this game they could play each other five times in four weeks!

Arsenal (9/1) vs Leeds (125/1)

Even though Leeds aren’t currently in the Premier League they are still a massive club. Arsenal have just made a managerial change and are struggling. This could be a great time for Leeds to play them if they still can’t get going over the Christmas period. With 14 FA Cups between them, 13 of which are Arsenals, this will hopefully be a great cup tie. No one has won the competition more than Arsenal and they’ll be looking to add another one this year!

Man City (13/5) vs Port Vale (500/1)

Last seasons winner have managed to get themselves another easy draw in a cup competition. City should have no trouble getting through this game against Port Vale in League Two. Pep will probably field a younger team than usual which should include the likes of Foden, Zinchenko etc. Port Vale won’t be expected to win this but as its the FA Cup who knows what could happen!

As the games haven’t been given a specific date between the 3rd and 6th January yet the odds aren’t available. As soon as they are Paddy Power will have odds on each of the games. Until they still have prices on each team to go all the way and win the FA Cup as shown above for some of the games!
