Its the final weekend of the Premier Leauge, and four players are in with a chance of landing the award going into the last game!

This season won’t see any players coming near breaking the record for the most goals in a Premier Leauge season. Mo Salah set the record in 2017/18 when he scored 32 goals in a season. Jamie Vardy is currently top of the list with 23 goals and we can’t see him scoring ten against Man United Sunday…

The golden boot is a fantastic award to win and makes for great entertainment for fans. Towards the end of the season, you will start seeing players near the top getting selfish in front of goal and trying their look from far.

Last years award was shared between three players. Salah, Aubameyang and Mane all finished on 22 goals each, meaning this years winner will have definitely scored more than last years. Vardy is obviously the favourite going into Sunday and has never won the award. This season marked his 100th Premier League goal of his career and a Golden Boot would be a great way to round off this season for him personally.

Golden Boots Odds

Jamie Vardy – 23 goals – 1/14

The league-leading goalscorer has just one game left this season which is against Man United. With a two-goal cushion on Danny Ings in second, he may not even need to add to his current tally. Vardy has five goals against United in his career and with De Gea’s current form he’d be confident of getting another.

The game Sunday is a huge one as well. If Leicester win, they will get top four and they will need Vardy to be at his best to do this. Vardy is in good form of later and has four in his last four games.

Danny Ings – 21 goals – 16/1

The Southampton striker has had the season of his life at his new club. He joined The Saints at the start of this season after a disappointing time at Liverpool. With just one goal in his first six games, he didn’t look like he would be challenging at the top but is now right up there.

On Sunday The Saints take on Sheffield United which will be a tough game. However, The Blades have lost their last two games and Ings will be hoping to take advantage of this. He has scored in his last two games and will need to be at his best to get two against Sheffield United to stand him with a chance of levelling Vardy.

Peirre-Emerick Aubameyang – 20 goals – 40/1

Arsenal’s captain and last years winner is three goals off levelling Vardy’s current total and has a game against Watford to do so. This will be tough as Watford are fighting for survival and it could go down to goal difference if they and Aston Villa lose.

Watford though have just been beaten 4-0 so it shows they can be rolled over. The last time Arsenal played Watford it finished 2-2 and Aubameyang got both of them. If he gets a couple and Arsenal are looking like winning the game, his teammates could start looking to get everything into him.

Mo Salah – 19 goals – 20/1

The winner of the last two golden boots hasn’t been amongst the goals as much this season but won’t mind that with his side winning the league. Even though he’s four goals behind, he’s still in with a chance. He has two games left to play, one against Chelsea and one against Newcastle.

Salah has already scored against Newcastle this season so will be confident of getting one against them. Their game against Chelsea is when they lift the trophy and spirits will be high. Four goals may be a lot but you wouldn’t bet against the Egyptian doing it.
